Como un secreto se seduce ... (Like a secret it seduces itself...) is a mysterious and alluring work by Luis Gonzalez Palma. It belongs to the Artist's Hierarchies of Intimacy series from 2005, and is easy to love. Its brilliance is characteristically matched by its intended imperfections. This is a classic treatment of the artist's double-edged approach to the human experience. This elegant and opulent set of rooms is occupied by a solitary object, a bed. Usually a symbol of comfort, relaxation, sleep, or more intimate acts, this bed is split, and thus becomes a contradiction of itself. The tension in this work is curious; is it reconciling itself or entering a more permanent state? The answer lies with the viewer.
